Another blogger (Srikanth Reddy) copies CRM blog posts

It seems like the blogger is copying some my blogs and other CRM blogs, so if you are a CRM blogger you might want to check the blog http://srikanthcrm.wordpress.com written by Srikanth Reddy to see if he has copied one of your blog posts.

on to the examples

Here is my blog

https://crmbusiness.wordpress.com/2011/02/17/crm-2011-javascript-xrm-page-basics/

and here is the copy, the exact copy

http://srikanthcrm.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/crm-2011-javascript-xrm-page-basics/

amusing the blogger has left in references to variables with the word Hosk and links to other Javascript blogs he has written which point back to my blog.

The reason I noticed this was because commented in one my blogs that the examples I had used were too complex and he had written a blog with more basic examples!!!!

I thought I should mention it here because he may have copied other peoples blog posts

like this one

http://srikanthcrm.wordpress.com/2012/01/28/crm-4-to-crm-2011-javascript-converter-tool/

where he claims to have written a javascript tool to convert Javascript CRM 4 to CRM 2011.  Where I am pretty sure Rhett Clinton wrote that

and here is the real blog post

I posted a comment on his page so hopefully he will reconsider this behavior.

Looks like all the Blog posts were replaced with links to the original poster. Maybe he didn’t fully realize that the way he posted the articles made it look like he was the author.

Isn’t this a bit of pot calling the kettle black?

Especially when the post you hold up as an example of him ripping you off is itself made up off rip offs – you borrowed the picture from Technet (without attributing the source) and nicked most of the PowerObjects post from here: http://www.powerobjects.com/blog/2011/01/14/crm-2011-useful-javascript-tidbits/ for “your” javascript titbits (and half a sentence and link to Rhett’s converter tool).

There are more characters on the page you are worrying about which are pasted from other people’s work than typed by you. If someone else sees this and realises you plagiarise others, don’t be surprised if they don’t feel the need to respect your material as original.

If after your opening paragraphs you said “the guys at PowerObjects have some great titbits for javascript here: such as this one example ” that would be different, but to start pointing fingers at another blogger for copying your copy is a bit rich. It also seems like most of his blog is made up not of copied posts but of simple links to articles of interest so you can read the original in full at the originating site (unless of course that has changes as a result of your complaint).
Mentioning “the boys from PowerObjects” at the end without a link is not really good enough; not acknowledging how much of the article was their work is poor form. As for any copying this Reddy guy does, it’s also a bad idea, but you don’t seem to be leading by example.

I always provide a link to the original material and try to make it clear it is a quote. I usually try and use the quote functionality in wordpress which indents it, although this blog post was done quite a while ago and I have learnt to make the quoted material more obvious.

I also try and encourage people to go to the original page and where possible copy a small section and not the whole blog post.

but I do link to the original source.

but I appreciate you point and view and it does make me look like a bit pottish.

@Srikanth, maybe the Hosk is not preaching from a position of strength here, but that does not mean that you should not be complained about by him or by others.

I took a quick stroll through your blog last night and recognised many of the posts myself. Maybe the various other bloggers whose material you have ripped off should complain. And in fact if they all complain loud enough, maybe your blog should get taken down by your host.

My Mum used to say “if you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing”. I think for bloggers the rule should be “if you don’t have anything new and original to say, post nothing”.

All these pointless echoes in the blogosphere drive me nuts. Write something, share your opinion about something, add some value to the community. Whether you link to another post or copy it wholesale is one issue, but just linking is not really helping anybody – tell us why the post is useful, what it helped you do, what else you think you could do with the technique. If you want to just point out a post to others, that’s what twitter is great at. I don’t expect much from a tweet other than “hey, look at this”. If you think everything someone writes is brilliant, add them to a blogroll, don’t just repeat their daily output.
Right, off to write yet more original content now.

    Srikanth,
Your blog just a fake, I took randomly six posts since begining (including FIRST) and ALL of them has a real source. All what you do, just stealing other people creation.
Hosk should keep this post and people should know what exactly your blog about.

If you have at least a bit respect what other people doing, you should down your blog.
You already have bad reputation and will only getting worse while you keep your blog online.
