The chaps at Zero2Ten who are fast becoming one of my favourite blogs and CRM companies out, they have created a lot of really good videos on CRM 2011.
Today there have created a free Solution which will allow you to make skype calls directly from CRM contact record.
The tool has also been certified as compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and can be found on the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace.
You can download the solution here, you have to fill in some details but this is a fair trade as you get the skype solution completely free.

I think you need to show a re-sized version of the image which can be clicked through to a larger one – right now the screenshot does not show the Skype goodness (unlike on the original site which is much wider)

Question 1: Can you also connect contacts to their Skype account, so you do “real” Skype calls, not calls from Skype to phone numbers?
Question 2: Isn’t it very likely that a standard Skype integration will be available within the next releases from Microsoft? Better wait for that

I think Skype might be included in the next major release but you could be waiting for another 6 months for that. So you can use this until then.

I think it was a good effort from Zero2ten and perhaps gives us a glimpse of the future of CRM but like yourself I will probably wait until Microsoft release something.
I think Microsoft will integrate CRM with LYNC so that everything works with Office 365.

I upload this solution without any issues, installed Skype and started testing it out. Unfortunately I cannot find the correct format. I am in the US so I used +1 xxx xxx xxxx ,
which is the exact same format displayed in their “wrong format” warining popup. Has anyone else come across this issue?
