CRM 2011 – changes didn’t appear after importing solution

I imported my solution and everything went ok after I increased the time out.

Then I noticed that I couldn’t see some of the changes that should be appearing.

I went into the solution section and I could see all the  entities and the changes but why weren’t they appearing.

I hit the publish all customizations button and hey presto my changes appeared.

Just another little gotcha to watch out for

    the basic rule is

    managed solutions auto publish

unmanaged solutions need a publish all

    Hello Ben,
I have a ‘proc’ solution, which contains my plugin assemblies. Can you think of a scenario/situation where importing this as a managed solution does not update the existing version on the target?

I tried, what normally works for me, to un-register the assembly using the plug-in registration tool. Then, I re-import the managed solution. After the import, I don’t see the changes in the plug-in.

In this one particular instance, I was forced to ‘update’ the assembly directly from plug-in registration tool. Although this worked, it’s not ideal when I expect someone less technical to be performing the import.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!
